This is Westfield’s first completely new mall since entering the New Zealand market in the mid-90s. ASSA ABLOY provided a variety of solutions throughout this purpose-designed centre. Westfield required hardware that would withstand the wear and tear of a high usage environment for the lifetime of the building. The Lockwood 1800 Series Furniture chosen gives both durability and a smart, timeless look. The 3500 Series Mortice Lock was used in conjunction with this furniture on tenancy doors, loading docks, fire egress doors and service corridors. Tried over a range of commercial applications including hospitals, educational facilities and defence buildings, these products provided a well assured choice.
The Lockwood 7726SSS Door Closer was chosen for its greater flexibility and adjustable power, enabling the option of high power strength for exterior doors and lower power with a delayed opening function for disabled access. The Lockwood 9000 Series Panic Exit Devices are also in use on emergency exit doors.
"I’ve never worked in a shop before this where people have stood outside at closing time to see how it works" was the comment from Albany’s CD and DVD Store manager, talking about Henderson’s popular Flexirol. The multidirectional stacking system was the ideal door opening solution for the shop front, where the versatility of Flexirol creates a smart solution for an open flow into the mall area. Offering smooth effortless operation where high performance is required, Flexirol is designed for stacking individual panels at either side of the opening. In this particular application, the doors are stacked to both sides of a dividing partition, maximising the use of space and shop presence in the Centre.
ASSA ABLOY is able to provide solutions for projects of any size. This large scale project saw a full range of ASSA ABLOY door closers, mortice locks, door furniture and support hardware utilised in the Westfield Centre.
