The Geyser building, located in the Auckland suburb of Parnell, is New Zealand’s first 6 Green Star Certified building. The 6 Star rating places the Geyser among the world’s leading buildings when it comes to environmentally sustainable design.
The Geyser building consists of five sub-buildings linked by a series of atriums. Each sub-building creates its own natural climate control by heating or cooling through thermal currents generated by a twin walled semi-reflective façade. The Geyser’s self-sustainability doesn’t stop there. With its own rainwater harvesting system, it is able to store and supply water to low flush toilets and irrigation systems.
ASSA ABLOY New Zealand is proud to be a part of this innovative and environmental achievement. Supplied and installed by hardware specialists, Wilson and Macindoe, the Lockwood Pentagon Mortice Lock Series features prominently throughout the new building. By combining the 1420 Square Series Symphony Rose Furniture with the Lockwood Pentagon Mortice Lock Series, the Geyser building benefits from the products high security, anti-corrosion, durability and fire rated properties.
In addition, the Geyser building also features the fire rated Lockwood 7726 Series Slide Arm Door Closer. With delayed action, adjustable hold-open and back check functions, speed control and overload protection among its many features, the Slide Arm Series permits a smoother opening by way of reducing power as the door opens.
