ASSA ABLOY NZ sponsor new drama: "The Cult"

The Cult, which has been described as “New Zealand’s answer to Lost”, is a 13-part series based on a group of people that are attempting to free their loved ones from “Two Gardens”; a cult community nestled deep in New Zealand’s native bush.

Receiving NZ$6.45 million in funding from New Zealand on Air, The Cult brings ambition and innovation to New Zealand television. It is the first series to ever be filmed here on Red Camera, which provides a more professional and expensive look to the footage. This, along with it’s star-studded cast, featuring former McLeod's Daughter Lisa Chappell, Law & Order's Latham Gaines, EastEnders actor Andrew Grainger and Shortland Street's Renato Bartolomei, gives the programme real global potential.

ASSA ABLOY NZ Ltd have provided the production company, Great Southern Film and Television, with a number of Securicraft, Lockwood and Henderson branded products. These will appear in a hardware store scene and a scene in which the main characters use Securicraft Press Locks to secure their house. Not only is this a great opportunity to support local talent, but with a prime time spot on free-to-air television has the potential to increase brand awareness through the use of a mass communication vehicle. 

ASSA ABLOY NZ product will appear in two episodes of The Cult which are due to screen in New Zealand on October 15th and 22nd at 8.30pm on Channel 2. Alternatively, these episodes will be available to view on New Zealand’s TV on Demand website (http://tvnz.co.nz/video) for the week following the original screenings.
